A quick gist of what Im lookin for if your not in a reading mood...
Ideas for basic planetary / ship related eye candy ( not modelling / graphical ), what sort of ideas and concepts have you come up with and how have you implemented them.
Balancing ideas / issues with Caps / Frigates, how have you balanced out your fleets and bases, what values have you used and such.
First off I am currently running a single mod, " Distant Stars ", I have found it to be extremely well made and very much epic in detail and the creators have done an extroadinary job off it. However for my own personal use I have edited a signifigant amount of the data ( fear not Im not offering to upload it, is for my own use ). I have added in some ideas from others, for instance the Dynamic Ships mod, that is making certain frigate classes act like fighter squads which leads to more realistic battles as oppossed to static lines attacking each other. I have also altered a huge amount of planet related points and fleet related points for my own pleasure.
With all this in mind im now looking to really flesh out the mod with a few minor details and some eye candy. By eye candy I am at the moment looking into creating moons around certain planets that spin and rotate along with the planet which will add a degree of realism to planets, they do not have to add anything to the game except as I said eye candy. However no need to limit it why not add a few off the cuff buffs to sprouse it up abit. Secondly I am looking to really flesh out the Cap ships and fleets for a degree of fairness between the races. At the moment I have made the TEC more hull and armour, advent more shields and mitigation and the vasari a cross of both, however this has led to bizzare things for instance the vasari rip through the advent low hull with phase missles like they are paper and the TEC shields are just useless in all honesty. I have found that the Cap on Cap battles can really swing in anyones favour for the most part. What im after is other modders advice and or values for using on your Caps and Bases including levels of hull / shields / amour / mitigation and so on.
