Bleh, Osmium shift is a way cooler name than Clan Pacov.
Anyway, so that house I checked out looks like we might get it... filling out my paper work tonight and then turning in my application. I'm hoping to move in on Saturday and getting my gaming rig set up either that night or the following Sunday.
For those who didn't know, I've been camping at the library and in my car (with the occasional night at a friends' house which was when I was able to play) and the last week I've been living on a ranch with a friend with really slow internet (3x times the speed of dialup!), plus work has been extremely busy and I've had to work overtime a few days :-/
So expect me be around Sunday or Monday (esp Monday since I won't have work or anything) or so, I'll try to get a few games in for sure

Sorry to hear about KALEL, I know he's always been bothered about some of your behavior (like being AFK while not really) and just the whole yelling thing. But not going to bring him up because it's pointless.
Not exactly what happened since I wasn't there for the drama but I know I really enjoyed playing with him and I always thought he was a nice guy, we got along pretty well and were both really relaxed, which was fun. It's a shame it sounds like he threw a fit when he got some alcohol in him.
That said, I think posting an inflamatory post about him and wishing you never see him again is kinda in poor humor. I understand this is "clan buisness" and so it sorta belongs here, but I wish it was a bit more cursory along the lines of "KALEL has left CP and we are going by CP again, not Osmium Shift" would have been a little better way of doing it. Espiecially when you're written a few passive aggressive posts on here before.
But that's just my opinion

Starcraft 2: Probably will get it, but I won't be good at it
just so everyone knows, I have very little expierence with Starcraft and I tend to do poorly in macroscopic RTSs' anyway, even if I really enjoy them.

Thunder:
Well, the fact that I can play a 1v1 while connected to Steam, AIM and GFWL without lagging for DoW II with a 40 KBps upload and download... it's much, much more forgiving than Demigod. I bet you could probably 2v2 pretty easily, as long as your connection is stable and never disconnects from Steam or GFWL. GFWL has built-in voice support, even if it's crappy so we don't have to deal with Vent if it pushes your connections too far.
The multiplayer community is pretty active and you can get a 1v1 or 2v2 game within 2 minutes using it's automatic matchmaking service, which is the popular game mode (not Custom Games). Custom Games are not ranked, however, so gives you a little bit more of a casual gaming expierence. Games last about 15-20 minutes for 1v1, and 20-30 for 2v2. 3v3's are 30-40, with some lasting up to an hour. Come-from-behind victories are totally possible and happen "All the time".
It does have a fair amount of bugs, however. A few targeting issues and there are a few game-breaking bugs right now (eg, one unit has melee resistance and ranged resitense when it shouldn't, and also he has no "upkeep" which means he is dirt cheap and hard to kill). However, the game is very much aggressively supported, and they release massive balance patches every month or two. There is one that is going to be released in a week or two that will fix most of the major inbalances of the newest expansion.
That said, even though the developers dramatically shift the game meta all the time, the game is no where near balanced. Every patch there is 2-3 tier 1 races and 2-3 tier 3 races. No in-between. Sadly, I prefer one of the weaker races right now, Tyranid, which get raped by the current meta (lots of AoE) since most of their units are "swarmy/mobby".
The learning curb is vicious, but there are a lot of newbs with the recent expansions' release and it's subsequent "Gold Edition" which is $40 for the original game and it's expansion (the expansion is $30 so it's a good deal). Single player is also really fun, if a bit repetitive. It's better than the normal RTS campaign because it is more than "Defend this base for 4 minutes!" and "build an army and right-click the target on the other side of the map!"
Really fun though, I really like it. If you've played Company of Heroes you'll be familiar with it.
