Negative. Close, but nowhere near the impunity Oak has with his shield lvl3.

A lvl7 Ere, 2 secs stun of mass charm lvl3 leaves the enemy more than a sec left to interrupt your tele-stun-kill you.

A lvl7 Sedna, with silence lvl1 they cant interrupt you for those 3 secs of silence, but u need a little more time to target the teleport added to the 3 secs of teleport cast time. So they still have a tiny chance to interrupt your tp. But the important part is this, if you sit there standing still waiting for the TP to complete you're taking all the damage theyre throwing at you, be it autoattacks, minions, creeps, previous spits and whatnot, so you need to be fairly healthy to survive the teleport.

A lvl7 Oak, he can take all the heat he wants, walk past double towers firing at him, ignore them , try to cap the damn portal, fight enemy DGs, get below 500HP, shield himself and merrily teleport out. Do that with lvl7 Sedna/Ere, you'll die-get interrupted for sure before teleport completes.

I'm talking specifically about this whole Cataract-Oak game mechanic-situation. Sedna or Erebus need at least another 3 lvls to act with such impunity, that's not early game anymore.

Furthermore, Erebus would need 4 out of 10 skill points in Mass Charm which really distracts him from getting/upgrading so many other awesome/main skills such as Bite, Batswarm, Vampiric Blood, Mist or nightwalkers skills. Meanwhile Shield is like the bread and butter for Oak, and you only need 3 points in it.

I don't wanna start a discussion on what DG is more OP but this kind of impunity, this cheap (just 250 gold, 3 skill points)and this early (Lvl 7) is too much IMH(umble)O. Maybe keep lvl3 shield un-stunnable but interruptible.

Yes, I do think it should change, but I was just talking about adding the 'dispell flaglock' as I havnt had time to think of how else to change it. I probably should of mentioned that.

Arlight, I'll just rehash my point then and move on:

Oak is the only one who can do that at level 7, but at level 7 you generally still have side towers up and there's not an especially good reason besides someone dying for you to be leaving a lane unguarded anyway. By the time giants and catapults reach the field there's a very good chance that several other DGs will be able to perform the same feat, so I don't see how an early game lock can be unacceptable but an absolute game ending lock is perfectly fine... why is an uninterruptible lock fine at 10?

I think the game devolves into portal locking much too consistently and that it needs to be more geneerally addressed. Oak's shield usage is a symptom of the problem, not vice versa. It has plenty of legit uses, like allowing a partner to escape DGs with snares, preventing spits, etc.

So for people who want to see it nerfed at 7 but not at 10, I ask why it's fine to perform an uninterruptible lock on a portal pumping out giants, catapults, priests, soldiers, and archers? Isn't that the worst time for that mechanic to dominate the game?

SHIELD III is bull. And this has nothing to do with locking flags or portals whatever.

Oak can take risks that are absolutely bullshit. After level 7 which is quite early a good OAK is IMMORTAL. Whatever stupid thing he does, he can shield and port away. THIS IS BAD FOR GAMEPLAY. A demigod should ALWAYS risk dieing. A good level 7 oak will NEVER DIE.
