My experience is that online connectivity has become pretty reliable, however LAN connectivity is still an issue.
I hosted an 18 person LAN about 2 weeks ago, and we tried a few times to get a 3v3 going (all 6 had purchased) and we had one player who had extremely long (like 10 minutes) delays while looking for games.
This same player plays with us semi-regularly online and has no connectivity issues at all in that mode of play.
We had patchy internet access while the LAN was on, so I'm once again guessing it's an impulse time-out issue, and once again think it would be vastly easier if we could enter an ip address to connect to for LAN games.
