Umm if you expect the game will span across the two monitors, I don't think that's going to happen without a possible 3rd party program spanning it for you, and even then I dunno...

I have a 24" monitor and the desktop is extended to a second 17" monitor to the side.  If I remember right, I can use the mouse to scroll across edges of the map, but if I try to do that on the side of the monitor that goes to the other monitor my mouse enters the other monitors screen and the map doesn't scroll.  If I click while my mouse is on that side, the game minimizes.

You might not have these problems, and there might even be easy fixes for them for me, but as a whole I'd say don't expect much.

I've got a triple monitor setup at work and the main two are set up so that, as you say, maximizing will fill both screens. This is in linux with nvidia cards but I assumed something similar would be do-able in windows, basically a screen resolution of...2100x1680

i use 2 monitors at the same time, but I clone the view. I find if you use the same size monitors and strech the veiw its fine, but different sizes just doesn't look right, gives me a headache. You need 3rd party software to play the game over more that 1 monitor, unless you clone, most video cards have that built in in the software. Btw, if you plan on playing the game over more that 1 screen, not cloned, it will eat up a lot of resources. Make sure you have a beefy computer or we will be complaining about your sim speed!!!!
