You don't even play, so don't try to act as if you have more game knowledge than an active player.
The only item rebalance so far as been the Heart of Life, everything else remains the same and is still very useful. Let me break some items down for you.
Helms
*Scaled Helm - Excellent early helm
Plate Visor - Useless
*Plenor Battlecrown - Massive MP pool increase, low regen by itself and early game
*Vlemish Faceguard - High regen but slightly lower MP pool increase
Theurgist's Cap - Useless
Vinling Helmet - Almost useless. Does everything Vlemish does plus that random bonus MP
Hungarling's Crown - Great when used with a group of mana intensive players
I can do the rest of the items if needed...
Demigod had its inspiration from dota, it is not a clone. If it was it would be more like LoL or HoN. You've heard of those new clones right? It is in no way just a copy of dota. It has a similar feel of play but overall it is its own game.
Dota has 80 characters that aren't even as deep as a puddle. DG has quality over quantity, not to mention constant support and future updates which already include 2 new DGs next month and official modding support.
After 5 games you can have enough for one of the first extremely decent favor items. Until then you can use the less great, but still nice favor items. There's been a favor reset and we all got to experience how to play with no favor items. I'm still rather low on favor points as I save up for the larger ones. Also you can easily play with favor disallowed.
There's plenty of room to flank and fog of war tends to decrease as game time increases since towers are being killed. The bottleneck map, oh you mean the only bottleneck map call Crucible? Everyone agrees it's the worst map out of all of them. However, it's still fun if you like how the map has to be played.
As I'll say again, demigod was NOT supposed to be the successor to dota. And it should not be compared to dota anymore as it is its own game.
