open beta had nothing to do with poor release. the game was put on piratebay, server overload....
open beta may have allowed more people to test but i doubt enough to overload servers and even though they had a small community they already knew about connections being shitty
SO IN YOUR FACE, research before being an asshole
Pot meet kettle.
The problems we've been having with multiplayer connectivity since about 1 week after release until the latest patch had nothing to do with server overload or the game being pirated.
The specific change which they did in the last patch which dramatically improved it for everyone was an adjustment of the MTU size in the network code, which is for connections between players and nothing to do with their servers.
Specifically
+ Made data packet size smaller which should help people whose routers don’t allow such large packets. The
symptoms of this are losing connection to the NAT facilitator or the connection dialog showing that you are
connected to someone but they are not connected to you (or vice versa)
This is something which would have shown up in an openbeta. Even frogboy agrees now that an open beta is what they should have done (as if it aint bleedin obvious) as the beta was tested almost exclusively within the US where these problems obviously didnt show up. You really are making yourself look a bit silly telling people to do research.
