Hello there,
I've been playing Demigod now for the past week and I must say that I've enjoyed it. I've enjoyed everything but the ragers. Now, I know what you're saying - "Hey Hudson, every game has rage quitters," and to you sir or madam, I agree. Knowing that however does not keep me from wanting to nuke the person's home while laughing in the ashy aftermath.
Here is my humble proposal:
There is a good number of people who are actively playing Demigod. Yet, that number has not hit such a high that the average Joe can't keep peace in their own way. As anyone who has recently been on can tell, it's a rare time that the active game list even has a scroll bar. This means there are roughly a handful of active games going at any one time.
Since GPG and Stardock obviously have their hands busy and probably haven't began to tackle a functioning Rage Quit Ban List, I say we do it ourselves as a community. All it takes is a pad of paper and a pencil. Simply keep it next to your computer and write them down as you go. Figure out your own rules for the list. For example:
1.) Unexpected quit gets a name on the list.
2.) Next game I find myself in a lobby with named person, I give them another chance. If they play through the whole game they are given a break and a mark is made by their name. I'll allow them to join me another time.
3.) If they fail to stay in the game, they are banned from any game I'll make in the future.
It's as simple as taking a name down and sticking to keeping these people out of your games.
Anyways, I've actively been doing this. I will continue to do this until eventually Demigod has its own system.
