i ran that at 1280x1024. with a little tweaking i can do 1280x720 for the widescreen mode youtube prefers.
what really sucks is the jerky camera movement.
And the animation of hammer slam looks pretty bad if you view it from the side in slomo ... kinda jerky at exactly the wrong moment.
I wish I could disable the gui.
You're right about the jerks in the movement. Also they might have added a greater 'rebound' of the hammer after it hits the ground to make the impact feel bigger, rather than just the quite small vibrations on their own. Perhaps the swing could have taken just a bit longer to wind up with far more acceleration towards the end. As it is the pace looks almost linear. I can see it's not a straight line but it could have been a far more pronounced curve.
The poses are excellent though, just the timing that could be tweaked!
I love that they put in a camera shake on impact, but for some reason it happens quite a few frames before it hits the ground? Overall GPG look like they've made more of an effort on animation than a lot of game studios, it really adds character. I hope they animated from scratch rather than use generic MoCap data like a lot of the industry!
