Has nothing to do with "the game". ANY game that involves people being connected to each other in which one or more of the pariticpants has every packet being checked by some program is going to have a problem like this.
This game is populated more by 13 year old kiddos than other online game from, say, a RTS. Which is cool, in a way, but expect slow SIMspeeds due to their N64 "toaster" machines, and nooblets who DON'T know JACK about their computers/routers.
It's the territory, the sort of instant gratification gameplay that attracts these folks. Also, I understand that it's harder and frustrating for all involved. Ultimately, though, the online experience degrades due to this, and frustration often ensues.
When it takes 20 minutes to get from lobby to in-game using the Skirmish/pantheon option, and the russian rulette style matchsystem (ever played against 2 AIs, or NO ENEMY PLAYERS AT ALL? that's what im talking about), something is VERY WRONG.
