In my humble opinion, arranged teams would ruin Pantheon and turn this game into the angry, elitist, mess that most of the games referenced in this topic are. It's a lot more fun to roll the dice on who your teammates are than play with the same group every time, and it also prevents team stacking and unfair strategies which would ruin the game for pretty much anyone who isn't on a pro level team.
In the long run, I think that it would be a much better idea to lose the few people who are whining about this who will actually follow through on their threats to leave (and not invite their angry, elitist friends),than to allow arranged Pantheon teams and potentially ruin the spirit of the game.
Having no way to make your teams inspire independent play, which is extremely detrimental to this teamwork focused game. People usually ignore their teamates and often are frustratingly inept when they play with random teams. The "elitists" that are found in DotA usually are people who have played the game for a long time and usually have enough skill behind their words. You won't be losing just "a few" people if this isn't implemented, you are going to lose more than half of the community. Such a good multiplayer game emphasizing teamwork should not be without a way to arrange teams.
