I could type a plethora witty replys... But, I won't.

The only thing I will say is... Basing your information off a forum post by an anonymous person claiming to be a manager of a Gamestop store is gullible to an extreme.

And even so if this person was a manager... You do realize, that is like the 3rd lowest in the totem pole of heirarchy as it relates to something of this type of problem to go in effect, one manager of some local store with branches nationally knows about as much about this, as I know about the mating habits of Pygmy Dolphins.

So now that I'm done with that...

It's 3 days, or was 3 days now its 2, go outside, celebrate Easter, hang out with your friends, play with your dog, watch tv, read a book, compose a symphony, learn Mandarin, do community service, build a model car, ride a bike, bake a cake, learn to play the viola, wash your car, go fishing, run errands, or stare out the window.

All of those things are more productive then getting angry over the fact that you can't play a video game for 3 days because of mistake that happened which allowed a few people to play before you...

Look you can post any number of posts from EB/Gamestop managers and employees but it does not matter.

All it proves is that the problem was from up high and by *high* I don't mean a store manager, we're talking a regional manager or even higher thier buyer. Someone up high did not get the memo (or chose to ignore it). Lets assume that it was just a mix up, they did not get the memo, well it's pretty obvious that the message would fail to be disseminated to all the stores/troops.

Whose at fault? Hard to say. Did Gamestop consciously choose to ignore it in hopes of gaining extra sales over Stardock Impluse and all other retailers? Or was it really a mistake on thier part? We may never find out the truth...

In case you did not know, retailers are in compeition for your sales and a great many of them I'm sure are not very happy about digital downloads as it cuts them out of the picture. Often times retailers will try to throw there weight around to bully developers or publishers to get things in there favor.

Anyway... In 1-2 days time, it won't matter either way at least for the gamer/consumer as they'll have there copies and be happy.

No, i didnt say that but how do you explain this?

"If I remember correctly, Demigod was listed in our New Release list as being a 4/9 ship date, with no street date attached to it"

In that #152 post the guy later contradicts himself claiming some other guys somehow he has no clue about?(all of sudden he has no clue about details)CALLED stardock for permission. And then if he was sure there is no sd and game was set for 4-9 why the hell would anyone call and ask for early release? It doesnt make sense at all

On the second note, the other gamestop guy at forums at gamespot says game had no streetdate for 14-4.

Now, if you really believe gamespot takes all the weight on their shoulders here i have to tell you to rethink that.

I dont want stardock to call people to brea easter because of this, but this is insult to all people who preordered game, is it gamestop fault or stardock it doesnt the hell matter, they are partners and we are CUSTOMERS. So if you ask me it would be fair to hear apology and those who preordered should at least get download same time as beta testers. I think it would be honest and fair, at least what can be done.

In regards to this "Street Date"... Anyboy who looked anywhere would have known about the date being the 14th all other sites that sell the game say the 14th. Anybody who knows video games knows the MAJORITY of games are released on a Tuesday, this is exasperated by the fact that Gamestop SELLS VIDEO GAMES. They of all people including people who work there should have thought somethign when the game came in for the first time...

I in my little knowledge of world know these few facts...

New movie releases for DVD come out Tuesdays... New video game releases come out Tuesdays... If there are exceptions to the rule it's usually a big deal and it's announced, pick it up on _____, early release on _____, advance screening on _____, yadda yadda yadda...

I mean Gamestop checks out their competitors prices and information... All competing stores do... You don't think whoever does pricing, etc, didn't check to see all other stores say "Release Date April 14th"?

BTW, have you read posts #120, #139 and #134 from frogboy (who is the CEO of Stardock) in that thread. It looks like at one level, Gamestop knew that the street date was 4/14 but somehow that information didn't make in their information system.

I don't think that Gamestop and Stardock are partners. As they are both selling Demigod, they are competitors.

i bought it from gamestop but i didn't preorder from stardcok yet because i could've waited but i walked into a gamestop store and saw it for sale. and it was the last one from the store. i had to get a display box lololol .

so what ? why is there a need to fight? just because we got it earlier or not ? its not like we can actually do anything except play by ourself which i think isn't even fun. ( i don't know if online works... haven't even touched my game yet still in box)

we are still buying the game and still playing the game and making the game "demigod" a bigger community aren't we?

its not like we got special rare items or some sort in our box. game releases tomorrow and its sunday today don't worry its not like you all are gonna get scam or some sort.

i know you would buy it right now too if u didn't preorder. its just jealously and envy that catches you.

You miss the basic principles of business here. Stardock affiliated with gamestop by giving them copies to sell where money is shared by agreement, therefore they are partners and affiliates.

Just goes to show you. You should always release your game on a Friday...

If GS had broken the street date on a Wednesday or Thursday, and pre-order people had to wait til Friday, nobody would care.

But you make people wait for a weekend, and it's murder. People wanna play NOW. Add in the fact that there's no pre-loading, ala Steam, and people get more antsy. (But as I understand, you do have the option of downloading a day early? Still not quite as good as preloading.) So the moment the game is released on Impulse, you still can't play, because you have to download gigs and gigs of data... which takes a lot of time for some people.

Anyway... there've be bigger sins than this little fiasco. I'm disappointed that I couldn't play this weekend. But oh well, what can I do.

If I was 4-5 years younger, this issue will certainly make me mad, but oh well I played Demigod already in betas and yeah i'm more used to this kind of issues already. We waited for 1 years, 3 more days won't make any different to me. But it's understandable that ppl get pissed though.
