Quick question regarding PC specs

Hey guys,

 

I know you must get this question a lot but i don't know where else to ask. So can my PC run demigod and at what level of graphics (low, med high) ?

 

PC:

- Video Card: ATI x800
- Processor: AMD Athlon 64 1.8 Ghz
- RAM: 1 Gig DDR2
- Motherboard: Asus A8N-E

The minimum requirements call for a Radeon x1600 and a 2.4Ghz CPU.

My vid card may be a bit low but my processor is overclocked to run at 3Ghz so if i get a better card i can run it basically?

Ok call me stupid but theres something i have never seem to understand.

Regarding dual core procesors, in my country normally we call them by each procesors power, what i mean is that we say a 1.80ghz procesors because its duo it has a total of 3.6ghz, but i've seen people calling it by its total power, so my question will be, when you say 2.4 low and 3.0 recomended are you saying total or each.

well to make it easir here is my specs:

Operating System: Windows Vista™ Ultimate (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_gdr.080917-1612)
System Manufacturer: PCCHIPS
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual  CPU  E2160  @ 1.80GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.8GHz

Memory: 3326MB RAM

Card name: ATI Radeon X1550 
Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc.
 Chip type: ATI Radeon Graphics Processor (0x7142)

I already know that my video card is no good and i will change it monday but what about the procesor?

Well it's certainly not 3.6GHz

 

Unfortunately the frequency doesn't tell you much, the Core 2 Duo's are doe more instructions per clock than a P4 does, atleast 50% instructions more, so technically a Core 2 Duo is equilivant to a 2,7GHz P4, and that's not counting the second core.

My belief is that the GHz requirements are based on a Intel P4, which means that you have roughly equilivant to a multi-core 2,7GHz Pentium 4, meeting the minimum requirements, and close to matching the recommended.

Ok so that means a new procesor, i guess ill have to rob my father of some cash, i just got enough for a video card right now.
