I need to stress-test the number of possible explosion entries that the game can load. Previously this was limited, but it seems IC increased this limit or removed it - what I don't know is how much room I've got. The original idea is for every race to have a different set of explosion effects - currently this would amount to six new sets of explosions, but since Volumetric is a part of the Last Stand, it would mean adding at least three more unique sets of explosions.
So to cut things short, has anyone ever tried to go above ten explosion sets in the explosions.explosiondata file?
And since poor me is probably going to have to find out things on my own, while I'm at it, I thought, why not also take a break from all the visuals work and do some sound design, which is almost as fun!
So, anyone interested in having new explosion sounds in game? Something with nuances like shattering metal, whizzing fragmentation a la Star Wars and since I got to stress test the number of explosions by making separate entries for every race, maybe some faint radio-chatter with screaming captains going down in flames (well, static anyway) as their ships disintegrate?
And yes I know, I'm spending way too much time on details.
