Working with galaxy forge... again and I got it now to where it'll show the new maps in entrenchment. However when I set the options up for the game, and the players, then hit start it automatically without showing me the map gives me the you have been defeated screen.
This is of course with the newest editor. Never had any problems with the older editors (prior to entrenchment) and I'm again at a loss to the reason why it's doing this. However, when i hit keep playing at the "you have lost" screen it shows "*insert player name* has lost" messages for everyone and there are no planets/stars. I have spawn probability set to 1 for everything, so I don't think thats it unless galaxy forge isn't writing the values correctly. Once again sorry if this has been brought up and solved, it's 11 at night here and I'm tired
. Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance.
I realize that my old topic about galaxy forge answers this question but I'm going to quote the answer that was put on the other thread just so people searching for the answer have an easier time of findig it.
To get galaxy files to work in vanilla Sins:
You need to put the galaxy file in your
Program Files/Stardock Games/Sins of a Solar Empire/Galaxy directory.
To get galaxy files to work in Entrenchment:
You need to put the galaxy file in your
Program Files/Stardock Games/Sins of a Solar Empire/Entrenchment/Galaxy directory.
Then you have to add it to the galaxy.manifest file in the Entrenchment directory. This is a new step because Entrenchment uses a different system to keep track of where all the files are, to make it possible to stack mods. Likely vanilla Sins will eventually switch over to this system.
To add it to the manifest file, add 1 to the fileCount at the top, then add another fileName. Make sure you spell fileName properly (capital N) and make sure you have quotes around the actual name. In short, make sure you are using the exact same formatting.
Don't use the folder under user settings (on vista, it's part of the User directory, on XP, it's part of the Documents and Settings dir). It will cause instant game loss, this folder is for maps created with the in-game map creator.
