any update on beta 3 or at least a changelog?

was hoping it gets released today so i don't have to worry about any "free time" on the weekend

It won't be today. We never release anything on Friday. I'm sending a test build to Stardock today though, so we hope to have it out early next week.

This is just love, name another game company that does this kind of things?

Thanks ToJKa. We actually went one further. Its now smart  and tells you when its done constructing the entire cluster of mines. (Which we think is better than reporting after every single mine (annoying) and better than never reporting at all).

incidentally, any reason for that? I'd imagine you don't want to release anything major or friday, because you'd like some time to see if all is ok. not that you release it, close down for weekend and then something gamebreaking turns up and ppl are stranded till monday. I mean not that I think something like that is likely to get past testing, but ...

or is the real reason much more trivial.

in any case, hurray for the next patch in any case.

I, too, would pay a handsome sum if you could do that to a friend of mine, with the tweak that it dumps when he chooses Vasari(he never plays any other race).

I can see it now: Me:  "What does the mini dump say?" Him: ".........'Error:Try another faction, moron, you paid for all three.'"

Yay for Beta 3!

P.S. does anyone know anything about a timeline for final publication of entrenchment? Is there a date beyond which this great beta process (and I mean great, what a great developer to take such time and take such consideration of fans' feedback!) is not permitted to travel beyond? Also, those who have knowledge of the previous question may be able to answer regarding another curiosity: what are the themes of the next two micro-expansions and what are their generally-expected deadlines?

I think the final date for Entrenchment is February 25th. The second expansion is diplomacy-themed, and the third we don't know. The deadlines would probably be pretty skewed now, but I'd expect the beta for the next one in the summer.

Yeah, for vanilla Sins I imagine it would, especially since most ships only have frontal-firing weapons. Darkshimmer is on the Star Trek mod team, and ST ships have weapons out of every orifice, so that might look better.

yea its very different with trek ships, especially fed ships. What would we change for it to work?

Blair,

How many people are playing Entrenchment over LAN or Online? I have been playing it frequently with a friend and have yet to play a game where we don't have de-sync issues.  I think this is a bug in Entrenchment and not Sins because I never had the problem with the Original.

yeeehaw. end in sight?

I had a nice ai game the other day. got 2 lvl 6 marzas. the destroy a mighty bit, if the enemy lets them. unfortunately, one lost its am all the time due to the advent battleship I think. very, very tough to break their defense, gotta hate the vasari 20k base.
