okay.
honestly, i think the conept of how mines are placed now is fine. how they're removed however is another matter entirely. how about this. your fighter squadrons need to have a few options regarding tactics and target acquisition. for instance, you know you're entering a GW with mines. so you switch your fighters over to target mines to the exclusion of all else, while at the same time, tweeking scouts ability to reveal them and make them targetable. multiple scouts in a fleet i've noticed, will haphazardly reveal mines, for instance, revealing one that is behind 3 or four others, so that any ship going after that mine, is blown to shreds by the ones that werent revealed by the drunk scout pilot, another thing, multiple scouts....wil inevitably attempt to reveal the same mine, and sit there for a few seconds even after their cooldown has expired.
so my suggestion is very simple. scouts may not target a mine to reveal that has been targeted by another scout....fighter squadrons need the option to be ordered to attack mines first, or at least give mines priority over other targets.
