I bought this Compaq notebook a couple months ago but I have been thinking I made a mistake so I've been considering moving back to a Powerbook. I lost control a couple years ago and beat my old Powerbook to death. I decided not to have a computer anymore because of the rage I felt toward them. Earlier this year I went to the Doctor for help finally. My blood pressure was high and it fueled the rage I was living with and She started me immediately on anti-depressants, blood pressure medicine, and prevacid to control the acid. I was having chest pains and at 35 I though I would just end up dead soon. A month after getting my medicines right I am living a much better life. I can't believe the difference. So I decided to buy another computer, and I am quite happy. I was thinking I needed a Mac to be happy but I always had to force myself to like Mac OS. I don't know why, its just the way it was but I was still going to get a Powerbook. Instead I decided to look around and make some changes to see if I could enjoy Vista better. After just 3 days with ObjectDock full and the Object Desktop Ultimate package, and a few other things I am quite happy. So instead I spent a few hundred bucks on improving the Compaq.
I ordered a 320gb 7200rpm hard drive for a bit of a speed boost, plus I am addicted to iTunes TV shows so I'll need the room. I also bought a full version of Vista Ultimate for a clean install, no HP bloatware to bog things down. Lastly I picked up a Targus AC/DC adapter since I am on the road a lot and had one for my Powerbook and it, although pricey, is absolutely superb. Sorry for the above soliloquy but had to vent it somewhere. I would also like to add ObjectDock is far superior to the OS X dock. I am still learning, and will subscribe to this site soon but I have spent quite a bit lately and have to make a couple paychecks first. I dumped my system utilities suite in favor of individual programs that do their job superbly well and I am happy to have shelled out the extra cash as things are much smoother and nicer now. I am sorry if this post is too much.
