i think there is a hardcode or at least there was one that a ship could only build 2 types of strike craft... i think it could have multiple options to build but could only build two of the types... the hardcode may be gone but i don`t know for a fact so you could probably try it but.....

I must say that the hard code that a ship can only build 2 types is silly. I for one can think of a 2nd fighter type i would liek to build. The escort fighter.

Explanation: currently fighters, i liek to call them defence fighter since they defend teh ships of you fleet from enemy bombers, first go againts enemy bombers ignoring other targets. The enemies fighters does teh same so all that truely end up dieing are bombers. I would like escort fighter that would target enemy fighters as a prioraty target. Thus helping to protect my bombers.

A 2nd bomber type could be one that is armed with weapons to bomb planets.
