Yes, lots of people want a Nexus the Jupiter Incident mod. Usually people come out and say something like "Nexus is about tactics." or "How will you implement customizable ships?" or "Nexus weapons can only damage shields or hull, not both." or "How can you do maneuvers like disabling weapons, engines, and shields?"
Me personally, I have responses to all three.
1. Nexus is about tactics yes, but Sins of a Solar Empire is about STRATEGIC moves. All we would be doing is taking Nexus from the tactical level to the strategic level.
2. Just have different ships with different weapons.
3. And that can be done in Sins as well with "Affects_Only_Shields" or "Affects_Only_Hull" for the DamageAffectType.
4. Abilities.
And for IP jumping, that's why we have particle forge. As far as I know, all a lot of it would be is rescaling and adjusting Vasari engine exhaust effects to go around the ship. Plus some other tweaks.
