How do I change Name and Difficulty?

Appologies if this is somewhere else in the forums, everything I tried for searches either gave me nothing, or a ton of GalCiv2 results.

I installed this game last night and jumped right into the campaign. I'm seeing on the high scores after completing the game that I'm apparently playing on Simple difficulty and my name is Pat Smith. I don't see anywhere in the campaign screen to change these values. Where do I go to change these options?

I have this problem as well. I am stuck with the original name and difficulty. I can't find a screen or menu item to change it. Everytime I start, it starts with my original parameters and doesn't give an opportunity to change them. The game is interesting on easy but no challenge at all.

If you play a "Quick Play" game, then the very first screen will allow you to set the difficulty and player name.

If you are playing "Multiplayer" there is no difficulty setting, since you'll be playing against another human. You can set your name though.

If you are playing "Campaign Play" the difficulty is determined by how far up the ladder you have made it. It starts off easy and gets harder the further along you get. It uses the player name that is already set from quick play or multiplayer.
