Just had one where pirates took over about 30 planets in the system. Just out of the blue, no invasion, no way to stop it. A few thousand pirates are managing to overthrow millions of people on even the most battle hardened planets without even a fuss? And then on top of that, no-one else tries to reclaim the planets despite the pirates having next to no offense? Very annoying.
I like the idea, don't get me wrong, but if I and other races are gonna lose planets, I want it to happen through the actions of in-game AI, not a splash screen.
