I only play alone, in SP, taking my time to develop the other, more civ-building dimensions of the game (as the thread's OP mentions) :
I paid for it, and that's how I like to play it.
If it doesnt work out so each faction is more than watered down rubbish in the end that makes them near identical I will probably do the same. I would also like to get together with somepeople online that like playing a game on normal speed that are willing to play a game in multiple sittings , if people were inventive and a person cant play you could get another player to take their place where they left off.
Totally agree with the quote though ....... /signed

Note: Really will have to start watching the double posts put the edit button functionality seems sporadic on every initial post I make, would be nice to have an edit button showing for all posts.

If I can beat you on the smallest map possible, the bigger map will just make it more one sided. No point in dragging it out for 4 hours. Anytime I play a big map I get so far ahead of people they usually quit before we fight. Or quit as soon as they see my fleet for the first time. At least on smaller map I get to kill few units. And whatever you feel the game was envisioned to be, it is my game. I paid for it, and I will play it how I like it.
Play me on a big map

I will lose , you will have an easy game , I will learn from it, I wont DC until you have destroyed everything. Everybody wins! I see what you are saying but surely its unfair to alter game mechanics based on everyone being a total idiot, that just isn't the case.
For those of you saying sins is much deeper game than Starcraft, I really hate to say it, but I don't see that being true. There's not that many strategies in sins and attacks are much more predictable.
It will be that way by the time everyone changes sins so it is like every other strat out there, sins is unique lets keep it that way. I suppose its a matter of opinion , but if I liked starcraft so much thats what I would be playing now if it was deeper. Its down to personal preferance in all fairness and sins catered to vet and newbie alike but I can see this changing and I worry
