Well the games still be hosted by players or a stardock server@ trackietYou don't seem to get it. One cannot simply "flip a switch" and change a game from P2P to client-server. Please stop asking the same redundant questions, they are getting annoying to say the least...the Monk
When doing an auto matching making system, stardock will decide who gets to be the host. Whats so hard about making a stardock server being the host since the auto matching making program has to decide anyways.
If stardock continues to have players be the host, whats stops the host from just leaving the game and ruining the fun for all in a ffa. I've played plenty of games when the host just leaves cause they lost a few planets. And dont tell me that BS of 30 sec migrating garbage. It works maybe 30% of the time.
If stardocks starts hosting games, maybe, just maybe, this syncing mini-dump issue will go away.
Plus not everyone can host games. Why? Cause they dont know how to configure their router to do port forwarding. Your guide to troubleshooting on how to host is bad and leaves their computer open to attacks. Many have stated reason why its bad to use your guide so I dont have to reiterate them.
I would stop these post if I see stardock actually saying that they will start hosting games or they fix the need to adjust the settings on their router to host games.
BNET allows you to play their automatic game matching system without adjust your router. Only when you want to host custom, non ranked games do you need to port forward because u are the host and not BNET.
If these issues arent address, or even acknowledged by stardock (either by thumbs up or down (so I dont expect it in the next patch)) then how will stardock know to address and/or fix them if they believe its not a general problem. Even according to Frogboy he stated that minidumps DO NOT occur to a the majority and that 99.99% are playing minidump free.
