I'm really impressed with the Replay function

This game has the best replay capabilities I've ever seen in a game. Some brilliant programming must have went into it.

It's smooth and crisp. It stays in sync. You can see what's being researched, the economy, you can see either side's perspective or both sides simultaneously. It's great!

Would have been better if there's a time jump...8x just isn't enough.

i don'r understand how the replay function works, i don't even know how to view a previous play game, or save one for later reviewing.

A 5 hour game, going at 8x, is still a replay over half an hour.

other than that, i completly agree with the OP, cookies are worthy.

It's a recording of commands and actions, not a video. So in order to get further, you'd still have to simulate everything that happened between now and then to figure out how to get there. Likewise rewinding would take a massive amount of work to implement.

Perhaps if replays contained periodic autosaves, these could be used as "chapters" that you could skip forward or back between, and then simulate the game forwards. Of course I dunno how practical this would be to implement.

My only complaint about replays is that I can't see what's actually being built in factories until it pops out.
