Sorry if this topic has been covered before, but I am not sure what I would call this phenomenon and thus would not know what to search for.
Try to follow along if you can...this is very confusing:
Two of my friends (friend A and friend
and I were playing a multiplayer game today and after almost a days worth of play, we noticed some very strange behavior. It seemed as if one of us had become partially de-synced and that the AI was taking over our forces. I was on my desktop and my two friends were sitting right next to me with their laptops. Friend A and I noticed that Friend B was attcking a planet and on my screen and Friend A's screens it showed that the enemy fleet had 4 battleships, 3 carriers and 87 light frigates and 46 light carriers. However, on Friend B's screen, all that he saw was one Battleship and a hand full of firgates. He took over the planet in a matter of mintues. But on Friend A's and my screen, he was still locked in combat and it seemed like he was on the verge of losing. One of his capital ships had no shields and was down to about 1/2 it's hull points. But the EXACT same ship on Friend B's screen was at 100% health. We thought that maybe he got disconnected and we didn't notice, but under the network tab it showed all three of us with a Status of OK. Latter on, Friend B's screen showed that Friend A had taken over and colonized two planets from the enemy, while on Friend A's screen and mine it showed that he had just begun bombing those planets and had not colonized them yet. We were still able to send text messages and whenever Friend B added bounty on a players head, it was correctly displayed on our screens. It almost seems like Friend B is playing a different Game than what Friend A and I are and it is set 5 minutes in the future...the number and location of his ships are correclty displayed on our screen...it's just what current action they are engaged in and other stuff that is not the same across all three computers. Anyone else run across this?
Very spooky....
