Hi Everybody,
I've been playing and testing this for a while. The basic idea is that everything is twice as fast as it is on the normal , unmodded "fast" option. I know there are a lot of these, but all this one does is blanket double the speed of everything. So if you want to take this and then add your own balance ideas, this could be useful.
PS: No specific abilities, damages or anything related to game
balance has changed EXCEPT for shield mitigation for everything is 30% max (further speeds the game up). Only speeds, and only multipliers that are
consistent across all entity types and races. I'm currently working on a balance one (lrms are 6 supply, defense turrets do 2x damage, pji tweaks, etc) using this as a base.
PPS: Right now I've only modified the "Fast" setting in the gameconstants file. Play on that if you want the mod to work how it is designed. If you want to make more speeds, go for it!
High Level Chg Log:
- Ships move 2x as fast (turn 10x as fast, to get rid of "turn micro")
- Antimatter, hull, shields restore 2x as fast.
- Fighters/Ships/defense buildings fire twice as fast
- Projectiles and missiles are 2x as fast.
- Everything builds twice as fast
- Culture propogates 2x as fast (from planet modules, capships, etc)
- Income is 2x as fast.
- Research is 2x as fast
- Diplomacy is 2x as easy (get more "happy points").
- Abilities/Buffs cooldown is halved. (Buffs that restore or do damage over time do double damage for half the time)
