gundam mod idea

hi all just writing to ask if anybody has thought about doing a gundam mod??? cause ive been thinking that a gundam mod would work really well with this game, especially if it was set during the zaft and earth alliance war during the gundam seed series. so you would have zaft vs the earth alliance vs the remnants of orb and zaft rebels. id like to do this but sadly i have absolutely no skill what so ever when it comes to modding and its summat that i would love to see in the future

well, a gundam mods would mostlikely fit in the game of course. The most basic idea i can come up with atm is that Capital Ships are replaced by Gundam Mobile Suits. as for other units, i'm not sure how to deal with that, since there should still be a distinct diffirence in races/units and not replace them all with those massive manufactered mobile suits from the series

Easy, there are fighters and battleships and cruisers all from the one year war era, it could be zeon vs earth, earth having Gundam as its main cap ship, with Specially modified GM's as other cap ships, while zeon has Char as its main cap ship, with modified Zakus as the other cap ships.

and then there are the fighters and battleships they used to fill up the other slots.

During the Gundam SEED universe there were also fleets of ships. You have to watch a bit closer, but the big ones were the Archangel and the one hunting it during the first season. Then the second season had an upgraded Archangel as the main ship. But there were various smaller ones. The smaller, mass-produced mobile suits could be used as cruisers, while the more powerful ones specific to the different factions could be used as capital ships. One major issue that would need to be resolved is the hand to hand combat that most gundams rely on. I'm not sure how you could add that in. As for the factions and units though, the groundwork is all there in the series.

yeah thats what i was thinking but i didnt know what would happen when it came to melee combat, mayb some modders might be able to figure something out?

I don't think the Gundam themselves should be counted as capital ships. They're still more like fighters, they can be carried with capital ships. Probably a more suitable approach would be to make them available from different capital ships. Like, if you build a Whitebase (so old, I know) it will be a carrier for Gundam, Gun Canon, Gun Tank and probably a few Gms. Don't know if that's possible to do, but just an idea.

well what i was thinking was that when it came to say the earth alliance (if it was seed) you would have to research the mobile suits before you could use them, so they would start off with the mobile armors, whilst zaft have the mobile suits and then later on research the nxt stage of suit. the suits and armors would be used as strikecraft

That would work better, if cap ships can hold more than two things that is, I know the cap ship factory cannot have more than those 5 ships, so I dont know if the cap ship hangers might have a similar problem. I can't actually think of any cap ship for the the one year war Earth side besides White Base itself... and as for the other series, Seed itself was good, if you ignore the plot altoughther, maybe if we incorporated Stardust memory into it as well as pherhaps other timelines that were fairly close to the one year war era it would work, Seed is in a timeline all on its own and the only thing close to that would be astray.

Truth truth truth! Replace fighters and bombers (youll need to create new ones? We cant have -just- two types of suits) with mobile suits and just replace ships with different models:

Federation, Zeon, Titans.
Easy peasy.

I like both ideas-- Though I personally would rather see the Gundams and signature mechas as Capital ships, It's more fun for them to have abilities and level up.. There should atleast be one or two Gundam capital ships and perhaps have the others as suit carriers.

0083 had enough ship types and mobile suits and different gundam models to work.

Of the three Gundam units 01/02/03 each race can get one as their super.

Or you could use the Big Zam:
