I am not blind nor am I stupid, I can clearly see that models are different sizes in-game.

Irashi hit the nail on the head: detailing, textures etc., on the ships give the impression THAT THE MODEL SIZES AND ACTUAL SHIP SIZES ARE NOT IN TUNE.

Window sizes should reasonable all be the same size. The windows on the Marza are very very big when compared to the windows on the light frigate. It makes it look unnatural and strange. In order to fix this the detailing on the models would have to be changed or the models would have to be reduced or increased in size UNTIL THE DETAILS ON THEM PROPERLY SYNC UP WITH EACH OTHER.

As you can see; the windows vary in size. This is unrealistic and all windows should be the same size and style, to promote individualism and uniqueness. We all enjoy seeing the same repetitive style on buildings! So much in fact, that I am proposing we rally to have the building with the larger window demolished and rebuilt with more standard windows. We must not care on when the building was built, what it was built with, the men who built it, or the money that made it. We must ignore all other factors and abolish artists and their damning ways of public destruction and encouragement in non-repetive patterns.

I am fully in support of making new textures and models for something that degrades the value of the game; different sizes in windows. We must ignore the fact that the ships cost different money; were made in different cultures, and some are older than others. We must have repeating shapes!

Regarding design, if you look at our own history you'll find that almost all ships (or vehicles for that matter) of any particular age look quite similar to other ships of the same age no matter the size. This is due to their existence in the same environment and there being an efficient design for that environment, as well as nearly always having technologically similar levels of armament. No matter what design is used in space, I think we can assume the shape and weapons systems of most vessels of a species are going to be similar in design. The difference in armament would likely be quantity and perhaps size as that has mattered in previous eras (turrets, cannons).

Plasma, laser and projectile are all used in SoaSE. I'm sure one is more effective that the other and given that each of these weapon types is represented in various sizes I'm not sure why the most superior isn't used. If lasers are better on strikecraft than projectiles, why use projectiles on other strikecraft? If lasers are also better on capital ships why use projectiles at all? Not only is no particular weapon type superior, none of them are superior for any specific role as all weapons are found in all roles. You'd think that one is superior overall, or each is better suited to a certain role. Still, it is just a game

Anyway, I am all for a redesign of a lot of the models, including some of the Caps if anyone is up for it.

Personally I would favour longer, naval-style ships. Take a look at some of the X3 Argon ships if you want an idea of what i'm talking about.

While this IS space I do, and I certainly hope some others will agree with me here, find the naval "sleek while still bulky" look very appealing. As someone here volunteered to create a models package I propose throwing some stuff along this line in there.

Rhelamos - It's probably something to do with how ships fly through something with the viscosity of water that makes people prefer long thin ships, or we're just used to 'ships' being long and thin.

Holy crap, lol, this thread has gone haywire. But anyways, I at first really didnt want an upgrade to any of the ships in Sins, but now after seeing that Garda and the LRM frigate....wow....great job on those. I can't wait to get my hands on them. I moatly play as the TEC just because i enjoy the underdog so some new ship models sound rather appitizing right about now.

The fact your arguing it about it now means your taking it seriously therefore your post is a lie. Anyways I wasn't the one basing it on windows and try not to imitate the reports of the drive by media(it doesn't make you look good).

For my last post I meant Reporters* and I wasn't making an insult I was making a comparative analysis.

Well thats fine its not what I'm going for. My objective was to prove I am right because I am right.

cruise ships tend to give the higher paying passengers better views, and considering the manual says it's carrying civilians who basically insisted on it being like a cruise ship it looks better and makes more sense the way it is. plus, it looks its part.
