First To Mod?

come on guys i really wanna see who is first to post a completly new unit.....model and texture at least. wonder what it'll be. due to the large community i'm betting a starwars ships .

post your mod progress and what you're working on. lets get some friendly competition.

I think that a few people were able to get some ships into the beta, or so I heard.

Me personally, Im working on a Total Conversion so need to begin some modeling if I want it in game. Should be unique and different since it hasnt been done in a very long time.

There are plenty of people working on mods right now, the tools were just released not to long ago so these things takes time. As posting about my mod there's a thread in the modding forum called "{WIPz} Sins Enhanced - Sky Box Edition" and i post all changes and screenshots in the first post of that thread as i finish a particular set of textures.

I have had 20 Babylon5 Shadow Battlecrabs and 5 Minbari Sharin Warcruisers in game at once in Beta 4.

If ur looking for 1st prize that probably has to go to Major Stress for his published pics of USS Enterprise in game, followed by Battlefield Gothic then Babylon 5.

I'm afraid Star Wars was a little further down the timeline but has put in a good show recently.

Most announced projects involving that kind of stuff are all long term in nature at the moment. However I would like to see some single ship mods. It will likely happen but not until the full set of tools is released.

I'd think Major Stress was first, but tons of people have done it, we also do have a beta version of the XSI converter tools that I'm using as well as the community max importer and code herder's tool. I think in both cases there is conversion work to be done to get ships out, so it will be a bit even if we have the models.

where i can find these extra ships? i thought as SD provides this site for uploading it would have been done by now. i love single ship addons rather than a whole package or total conversion. however i normally download the TC's and pick and choose the parts i like.

None of ship that have been placed in game have been released to the public. They were done as tests to learn about the limitations of doing custom ships as modders with regards to major projects people are considering within the community.

If you really want to get your hands on a custom ship in game then it is time to acquire some new skills my friend.

BTW: To the best of my knowledge Major Stress was the first to get a ship in game as well. Seems like he gets the cookie.

new skills funny i was just thinking the same thing.

hopefully ill have a nice mod post of my own pretty soon (got a week off work and one of my plans is to learn how to open/edit the models). with a community like this i know that anytime i get stuck ive got a huge knowledge base just a forum post away .

love the work you guys are doing and can't wait to see the finished products.
