Whoops, I think I posted in the wrong forum before, hopefully this is the right one.
First off, I love this game. Ever since Imperium Galactica 2, I have been waiting on a game that was very close to it. I thought Emperium Galactica 3 should have been made, but Nexus was made instead and was kind of disappointing to me. Anyways I do have a few things I don't particularly like. (Very very small things though).
I have never played Beta, so I don't know if some of these have been discussed already.
First, I think the Light Frigate is a little more powerful than it should be for it's current role. I really shouldn't have to have a bunch of LRM frigates ready somewhere in my system to take down a huge wall of light frigates. I usually don't know that a mass of them are coming and I can't instantly build a bunch of LRMs to counter them. My fleet is usually taken down by this mass even if I have a bunch of bombers and LRMs, it just seems to be too effective.
Second, why are Capital ships available at the beginning of the game? In Homeworld when I was finally able to build my first Capital ship, it was like an event. I felt a sense of accomplishment that I was still alive to build a Capital ship. In here I don't. They are available from the beginning of the game and you dont even need to do any research to get the other Capital ships. I know this isn't Homeworld, but it would have been interesting to have to research Capital ships before you could have them.
Third, since when does a colony ship exist as a frigate? Colony ships usually carry a few millions of people to be able to populate a planet, thus why they have to big so big but in here, I can build a small colony frigate ship and go colonize a planet. Colony ships are supposed to big hulking type ships, usually in the Capital class. Sometimes they are destroyed in the process of colonization as they are used for resources and such. I personally think the Colony ships in this game should be much much bigger and be placed in the Capital Ship class. Or, you can just have that already existing Capital ship that can colonize planets and get rid of the Colony frigate ship.
Fourth, I think Capital ships should either be bigger and a little more powerful than they currently are. They don't really feel as immense as they could be. Capital ships should put fear into you when they show up. Right now, it's more of a, "meh, they're pretty easy to take down and they don't do as much damage. I'll get my 4-5 light firgates to easily take him out, no big deal." If Capital ships are to stay the way they currently are, then hopefully a new class of ships are introduced into the game. Perhaps an actual Dreadnought class or a Juggernaut class ship. Super Capital ships is pretty much where I am going with this.
Anyways, those are my thoughts. I still love this game and will continue to play it.
