I've spent countless hours playing this phenominal game, but the story and racial descriptions have always been lacking. I know this is not the strong point of this game, and it was probably developed by number crunchers with a heavy emphasis on AI and playability, but a good campaign plot and more interesting races would do so much to improve the game. The epic game is great, but no single player campaign has ever bored me as much as gal civ's.

The races are mostly boring and uninspired. Especially their terrible appearances (the Korx design is particularily sad). and what is the Krynn Consulate supposed to be? were they just added in at the last second? Are they terrorist bug people? no idea.

Games are evolving to the point where you can't just get away with poor storylines and sloppy characters anymore. The game plays wonderfully, and the AI is great, now put a little work into other aspects.
