Population Growth

Ok this question is about the growth of population on planets based on the planet's moral.

I know that at 100% the growth doubles. But at other rates, what is the growth? I guess i was wondering if there were and specific thresholds where your growth rate changes. Should i care if my moral is 60% or 70%? Does it matter as long as im above 50% and less than 100%?

75-99% you get a +25% growth bonus. 41-74% you have standard growth. 21-40% you have no growth. Under 21% you lose 10% a turn. These are all from memory but I think they're close if not correct. And remember global approval isn't what's used for growth, it's the individual planet's approval that matters.

Did this change at all since this thread was made? I think its funny that 70%-74% approval rating would show as green and not give the growth bonus that the rest of the 'green' range does (i.e. all of 70 to 100% is color coded green in the colony overview.)

This seems like a really key part of the game too...kinda wierd that I have to go to a wiki to look up how to make my colonies grow fast. (Or am I just blind and missing it in game?)

I've had galciv 2 sitting my backlog of games to play forever. I finally sat down with it and i've been at it all day.

Not for DL and DA. In TA Drath and Thalans have lower base growth, but growth mechanics seems to be the same (can't check, I don't have TA yet).

The color-coding has to do with elections, not pop growth. Green means you'll definitely win, yellow means you may win or lose, and red means you'll lose. Even with yellow ratings, you still win almost all the elections, as the other parties' votes get divided among them.
