Hey all this is my first mod so there will be nothing realy major. I wanted to quicken the pace of the game and eliminate the end game since it is so tedious with the AI the way it is so far.
I started off by tweeking the homeworld. They have 1000 pop at 0 level and 3600 pop at level 3. Money is not an issue heh. The home worlds can support up to 1000 ships after leveling to max and have 22 logistics slots.
I gave all the home worlds 2 crystal and 2 metal mines with 9k in each.
I next messed with ship speed. I increased the acceleration, strafe, deceleration, and max speed of all ships by 50%. For the hell of it I increased scouts top speed to 1200, lol they actualy outrun missiles so you need lasers or projectiles to hit them when they are up to speed. I did that to the scouts partly to counteract the love I gave to turrets so exploring isnt impossible. I also added more hull points and shields and increased the hull and shield regen rate on them. Construction Frigs also have a speed of 1200 to speed up build times.
I gave static defences a boost by making the recycle time of turret fire a lot faster and gave them the ability to shoot fighters and bombers. I also increased the distance they can shoot from 8500 to 10000.
All in all it was realy fun when I tried it even though its not nearly finished. I still need to change build times, research times, build costs and research costs. Its a lot closer to a traditional RTS in how long it takes to play. You can do a 30 planet game in about an hour. The game is usualy over before you even get to the third tier of research and culture never even comes into play. Thats why I need to tweek research and build costs and times.
Anyway what do you guys think? Anything you can suggest to add more action would be welcome.
