I posted about this in the "Game ideas" forum, but there seems to be so little activity there, it might be better here.
I wished that the Galactic Civilizations-series would include planets and moons with many sorts of alien life-form that live on the different planets, depending on the environment of that planet. The creatures may be used as resources like in Civ 4, but may also be dangerous (like in Starship Troopers or Rancor in Star Wars)- Creatures are created randomly (but according to the environment of the planet) with a "Spore"-like engine.
Gal Civ could need a little inspiration from the "Sim Earth", "Sim Life" and "Spore"-games as this would give the feeling of a more living, breathing fascinating universe teeming with life, and would make every potential astrobiologist happy!

I also wished that the game would (optionally) start in 1946, and begin with the man´s first attempt to explore the solar system with satellites, landing on the moon, SETI-project, probes into solar system. Like in Civ 4 time is running faster (in years) here to not make things escessively slow and boring until the real interstellar race begins.
