I bet the kid knows it and plays it too his advantage, too. They're wily like that. You're right, though, it's not doing the kid any favors. I've seen people in their 50's who had never been told no as children, always given what they wanted, never disciplined and got away with everything. What pathetic messes they turned out to be. I hope something turns around for the 12 y.o and he gets a dose of reality -- for his own sake.
