I would like to see an option to turn off the "rocking" ships.

You know how all of the hundreds of tiny ships that gently sway from side to side all over your galaxy map? Why?

Think of all the processing involved for this... strange, considering how in space no such rocking movement would occur. This ain't the ocean.

I agree about the fleet battles, I would enjoy additional control myself.

As to the "little lights," I've got that now, are your graphics options turned down?

You know you can D/l the game with SDC, but you do have to have your serial, unless it's already in SDC.

2: it's the future. If the ice caps are still there by that time, then global warming isn't an issue.

We can theorize that the rocking motion is a result of misaligned station-keeping thrusters attempting to stabilize the vessel.

Because ...you know NOTHING makes a strategy game better than to have global warming simulated in it. Hey Brad stop working on those cool features in DA and get to work on the Global warming simulator. We NEEED that STAT! Because what is the far future without crippling Global warming produced by far superior technology?

Terrans getting the Global Warming super ability would be soooo cool...

You say that like you have inside knowledge. As you are as far from "intelligent life" as can be discerned on this forum, I don't think you know any more than astronomers do and you likely possess orders of magnitude less knowledge than astronomers.

Look up the work of Dr. Robert Zubrin. He's the head of the Mars Society and has written extensively on the development of civilization throughout the universe and the stages it might occur in. Zubrin postulates that since the universe formed at about the same time, civilizations within it will do so as well and at about the same pace. I personally think civilizations will never survive after the development of the playstation 3 and internet porn but that's another thread.

Let's backtrack and apply the above paragraph to the game.

All 10 civilizations in Dread Lords are about the same age and have roughly the same technology. The differences are small enough that ambitious races can catch up through military conquest or research. They all come from the Precursors which are simply a plot device.

They all reach hyperdrive at about the same time. Do you believe that they didn't have to deal with the concept that industry might be toxic to their existence and ambitions if they didn't have it under control? Even the Yor have to worry about toxic output because machines aren't immune to stupid practices either.

Interesting point, Marshall, except that at the time of Dread Lords, terraforming technology is right around the corner. Long before figuring out how to change the atmosphere of either planets, we'll _know_ how to set our own the way we want it.
