So, How Ya Doing?

How ya doing? How are you? How's it going?

People ask these questions all the time without actually giving a damn about the answer.

So I'll ask here, how the hell are you doing?

You're right. I've had to clue my hubby in that when people ask that question and they don't make eye contact or they are still in motion, they really don't want to know how you are doing. Simply because he is a friendly man who will talk about everything under the sun. And when he goes off into one of his conversations, thinking the person asking might actually be interested, their eyes glaze over or they are still in motion while he's talking.


Gosh I talk too much dont I?!! Well, how the heck am I? Alive and well. I can't complain. Things weren't looking too great at the beginning of the week but they're looking much better now. I keep my faith and trust in the Lord and everything is alright. My kids are fine and we're all a-ok. I'm not too tired right now although I just came back from visiting with some relatives of ours. It was a pleasant evening. My two youngest are still up and refusing to go to bed because they think they're going to be missing so much, and it's 11:02pm. And...wait, I'm still talking uh? Well, you did ask?! Ok, so how the heck are you?, wait , how is Socrates doing?

I'm doing ok, thanks for asking am hurting without my 800 milligram Ibuprofen, and I've gained 5 pounds from eating sooo much ice cream this summer, am getting used to the new choppers and smile a lot more now that I've shiny bright teeth

And how are you this fine Friday evening?

FS.That is hilarious about your husband. He is giving a sincere answer when the person asking is just using it as a substitute for hello.

Say ya, heard about your friend! sorry she's gone!
that really does hurt when someone is just suddenly gone from our lives...

I hope you run into her somewhere, like maybe the grocery store? or a laundromat? in the same town. It could happen ya know

I know! I had to clue the poor man in! I tell him to just look out for the body language of the person who's asking. Two words, "I'm fine" and then shut up. He still does it too!

Reminds me of the movie Airplane when everyone was on line waiting to take turns to punch that little girl , or was it the nuns? or that guy with the guitar? Aw forget it, now I"m confused!

Ya never know, but she was just a favorite barkeep, too young for anything else to me.

It can't be that bad.

Sometimes I'll give people some really long complicated answer to "how are you?" just to amuse myself.

let's see, off day so I work on a lawyers computer and help the latest refugees from Chavez (yes, they are!  Ouch Chavez!), in their latest job that lazy americans wont do (he is doing it with glee).
