AutoColonize?

Is there a setting somewhere to prompt before colonizing a planet? It often happens that before reaching the destination, my colony ships hit a planet. What's worse is that sometimes I colonize a planet with a lower PQ than others near it. So, is this a bug or a setting.

IMO it's a bug. I hate hitting a PQ4, esp when there's a 19 right next to it lol.

Personally wish there were options for this and everything else that it does ask you "are you sure ? "

especailly constructors.
1) Just build the starbase. I sent it there, I want a starbase.
2) Just take me to the starbase upgrade menu. If i want to cancel, i can still hit cancel.
3) Stop asking me if i want to spend an extra 500 bucks to build infuence modules. I picked it. I can read. I have >>2000x more than the 500 bucks....

I would hope so, this game being played in billions and all

But I only have that happen if I choose it to. Frankly, I'm confused as to how you fail to notice the fact that you go through a planet to reach your destination. Stars and planets do show on the map, after all.

When you build colony ships that move > 5, this can happen very easily. So you should probably learn to start building them that way...lol

I've never once ran into the wrong planet unless I accidently clicked on it... and this is with 10+ Speed colonizers... Maybe you should scout around a little...

if your accidental colonization is because of your colony ship having more speed than its sensor range and you are clicking a destination that is in the fog of war, then advancing to the edge of vision everytime would be one solution.

Or if you are extra anal like me, I would suggest crawling one parsec at a time and revise your destination target upon any new discovery...

One way to advance into an area (slightly slower) would be to only click to as far as you can actually see through the FOW. Generally once an area has been 'sensored', even though FOW is still there, any planets of note still show up. So, only go as far as you can see is clear and hope more planets show up before you get there.

Likewise, click to stop just short of a planet. That way if more show up when you arrive you can change the final destination before colonizing.

Ok, maybe it's just my play-style, but the first thing I do is purchase a colony ship each turn for the first three turns. I then make a mad dash in three separate directions all at once. Because fog of war is up, I click in the general direction of a star system. Now, I don't take time each turn to see if my colony ship is going to move over a planet; I set the waypoint so I DON'T have to micro-manage each move. I guess I thought that b/c there is a pop up for everything else in this game, that the most important move (IMO) would also have a pop up. I'm more a fan of putting a plan in motion and letting the automation take care of the details....which is what I like best about this game, you don't have to micro-manage.
