Here are some things I noticed while playing the 1.1 Beta:
1. If there is no social production item qued, the number is framed by a carrot (<) and an end bracket (]) rather than parenthesis, presumably to indicate it is being transferred to military production. It looks kind of odd <20] when set next to the idle military production (20).
2. Idle social production is not actually used as military production. I have tried leaving several worlds with empty social ques and a ship selected for construction at the stardock. It both displayed as "never" going to be produced, and no production was contributed toward the ship.
3. When changing social production items on the planet screen, the amount of time required to constuct the item incorrectly displays as a very large number. (Which, I think is equal to the value of the building in question.) Focusing on social/military/research and then unfocusing will refresh this display correctly.
4. The Iconian Refuge AI will not attack my fleets with one or more of its own ships that is essentially indestructable to me. (My ships have 4 mass driver weapons doing 8 damage, while their ship has an armor value of 24.) They are defending a planet, which is probably an important priority for the AI, but one or two could have easily wiped out my fleets which went on to destroy a number of their other worlds' defenses and space stations.
5. It is awesome.
