So I'm wondering how you guys take a planet from an enemy civilisation.
I'm asking because I just finished the 1st level of the campaign. After initally using research to benefit my economy, I eventually teched up my war technology.
I sent a small fleet of Mark 1 fighters to the star system that the Drengin control. Meeting absolutely no resistance (strangely- the Drengin were researching Xeno ethics when I was invading) I kept my fleet hovering over their two planets.
This is where it started to get boring- it took me ages to get that planet under my control (in fact- I had to wait for a troop invasion fleet from the Alterians (sp?) to do the job)).
These were the issues:
-My space fighters have no effect on their planets. Their approval didn't change.
- I didn't have the paitence or tech to win the planet over with influence (even if I did- don't you need 4x more influence than the domestic civilisation? Their approval was 100% so how can I posibly get them to revolt???)
- Even with my fighers over their planets, when they had absolutely nothing else- when talking to the Drengin, and "asking" for their planet, all I got was something along the lines of "you Humans may be more powerful, but we shall fight to the end"
...So what would/did you do to finish the 1st mision off?
I had to trade with the Alterians to get Planetary Invasion, and by the time my 1st troop carier got there the Alterian invasion squad had already done the job. Bit of an anti-climax D:
Thanks!
P.S. Does money/troops carry over to the next mission?
